What We Do
Besides selling beading supplies and finished jewelry, Reed’s Beads offers many services.
If you are interested in making jewelry, you may choose to:
- buy your supplies and take them home to make your own jewelry.
- take a class or schedule a private beading lesson. Please review our Classes. If you do not see a class related to the topic you are interested in, please call 215-540-5585 or email to discuss.
- come in and make your own jewelry using our workspace and tools. Space is available on a first come - first serve basis. Please allow at least 2 hours to select your supplies, string your piece, and finish it. We charge a finishing fee of $3 per strand if you need us to finish your jewelry. The fee may be more depending upon the intricacy of the work involved. We are happy to help you select your supplies and can offer guidance in your design. If you require undivided attention during your visit, you may need to schedule a design consultation for our hourly labor rate.

If you are interested in designing but don't wish to make your own jewelry, you can schedule an appointment for a design consultation for our hourly labor rate. Customized jewelry is great for gifts, bridal parties, prom, etc. If the design you are making is for a special occasion, please allow ample time before the occasion. Customized jewelry may take 2-4 weeks to be finished and may require a fitting.
If you are interested in purchasing premade jewelry, we offer finished handmade jewelry for sale in our store and online in our Gallery.
If you are in need of jewelry repair, we may be able to help. In general, we offer stringing, knotting, and wireworking repairs. We do not do any soldering nor can we guarantee stretch jewelry or rosary-style jewelry repairs. If you are interested, please bring your repair in to our store for review; we cannot provide estimates without seeing the jewelry in question. Please note that we require a deposit on labor and parts, and repairs are not offered during the holiday season. Repairs usually take 2 weeks. Rush orders may be possible for an additional fee.
Getting Here
If you are familiar with Ambler, we are on Main St. about 1.5 blocks from Butler Pike. Please note: Butler Pike and Main Street are not the same street!! Our store is easily accessible from the PA Turnpike, as well as Routes 76, 476, 202, 73, & 309. The R5 train line stops in Ambler right behind our store. Click here for a map.
Please note our hours before you make the trip, and PLEASE make sure you feed the meters from 8 AM – 12 PM and 2PM – 6PM on weekdays, and Saturdays from 8 AM - 6 PM. One half-hour costs $.25, and may be paid with quarters, dimes, or nickels. Parking during lunchtime on weekdays, evenings, and Sundays is free! A parking ticket in Ambler is $12.
